1. When will I get paid?
AdBrite pays on a net-60 basis. This means earnings from each day must mature for 60 days before they are eligible for payment. For example, December earnings will mature at the beginning of March, January earnings will mature in April, etc. AdBrite uses this time to collect and verify payments. Payments are processed once per month, at the beginning of the month. Before a payment can be processed, the following criteria must be met at the time we start to process payments:
1. Earnings must have matured (reached net-60)
2. Matured earnings must meet the minimum check requirement
3. Pay to name must be filled out
4. Address must be complete
5. We must have collected payment from the advertiser for the matured earnings
A check will be processed for you if all five criteria mentioned above are met and it will be sent to the address on file by the 10th of the month. If your matured earnings do not reach your minimum check requirement, then those earnings will roll over to the following month. For U.S. addresses, checks typically arrive within 7 to 10 business days. For international addresses, it can take up to 21 business days for your check to arrive.
2. Do you offer any alternative payment options?
At this time we only offer payments by check in U.S. dollars. The checks are sent to the address on file via standard mail. Any introduction of alternative payment options will be announced as we would like all AdBrite users to participate.
3. What should I put in the "Tax ID" field?
Tax ID numbers are for US tax purposes only. If you are a U.S. citizen or business you are required to enter a valid Tax ID. If you are an international publisher, then you can leave that part of the form blank.
4. What should I put in the "Make checks payable to" field?
You should put the name of the person or company that will be cashing or depositing the check payments for your account.
5. What should I set my minimum payment to?
We recommend setting your minimum payment to $100 to make your payments manageable. If you are an international publisher, we recommend against lowering the minimum payment. International banks may charge fees to deposit a check from the United States, and if you set your minimum payment to $5 the deposit fees may be higher than the check.
6. When will my zone be approved?
AdBrite reviews all zones to ensure they are allowed under our Publisher Acceptable Use Policy. This process is generally complete within 24 hours of the zone being placed on the site and receiving traffic. For the first three hours it will display a “Gathering Data” message, and then it will display a house ad. If your zone is not displaying a paid advertisement, please make sure the zone has been placed on the site long enough to receive traffic before contacting client services.
7. What types of sites do you allow?
The Publisher Acceptable Use Policy contains our rules for publishers. You can read the policy by clicking here. The most common reason for a zone to be rejected is because the site fails to load or it does not contain sufficient content. Please make sure your site is fully constructed and functional and that the site contains original content, before placing an ad zone on it. If your site contains user generated content, you must moderate it to ensure your users do not post content that violates the Publisher Acceptable Use Policy.
8. Why isn’t my zone showing any ads?
If your zone is not showing ads, first make sure that it has been placed on your site long enough to receive traffic. We review zones within 24 hours of the zones being placed on a site and receiving traffic. These are some of the other most common reasons that your zone may not be displaying any ads.
Modified or incomplete codes
Make sure you have not edited the zone code or accidentally omitted any code when placing the zone on your site. The zone code will not work if you accidentally remove a portion of the code.
Non-English
If the site is not in English it will not receive network ads. Advertisers can purchase an ad through the “Your Ad Here” link, but we will not deliver network ads because we do not currently support languages other than English.
9. How do I generate earnings from the ads?
Text ads are paid out on a CPC basis (cost per click), that is you earn for each click received on an ad. Banner ads are paid out on a CPM (cost per thousand impressions) or a CPC basis. An impression is the number of times an ad is displayed and for CPM banners, you earn for every 1000 views on a banner ad. Full page ads are paid out on a CPV basis (cost per view), so you earn for each view of a full page ad. All campaign ads (CPM, CPV and CPC ads) are auctioned-based. Pricing is determined by the amount of inventory available on your site and the competition between advertisers to appear on your site. AdBrite automatically optimizes the ads matched to your site so that the highest paying ad available is displayed.
10. How do I improve my earnings?
Because AdBrite’s targeting is based on users, you will want to design your site to attract visitors from the United States or countries that have a large consumer base. These visitors are targeted more often by advertisers. For Text and Banner earnings, the placement of the zone will impact how much they earn. You should place the zones above the fold so the visitor can see the ad without having to scroll down the page, and favor the right side of the screen because visitors read from left to right. Do not place multiple zones at the footer of the page because it will reduce earnings. Zones should also be a reasonable distance apart, should not be placed right next to each other, and should always be within a distance of site content so they are visible without scrolling. Standard sized zones will earn more than flexible zones because they can receive both banner and text ads. This enters as many ads in the auction as possible, which makes the bidding more competitive and results in higher bids. The flexible format cannot show banner ads, and as a result the bidding is less competitive and the zone will earn less. To maximize the earnings you should approve as many ads as possible. This creates more competition in the auction and increases bids, and it makes more ads available to help you monetize as many page views as possible. You do not want to reject ads because they are either CPC or CPM based, or if you think they are low paying, as this removes ads from the auction and results in lower bids. For Inline ads, you can choose where to display the ads. You will want to display in line ads in paragraphs of content, and exclude any areas module headers or labels.
